HEROIC THOUGH TIMID | Akbar & Birbal | HELLO CHUNMUN

2.          HEROIC THOUGH TIMID

Akbar seated on his ornate throne, raising an eyebrow. Birbal stands beside him, gesturing toward a modestly dressed woman holding an oil lamp. She stands quietly, eyes lowered, with a calm expression. In the background, a rainy night and a small rat hint at her dual nature.

One day, Emperor Akbar posed a curious challenge to Birbal, "Bring me a person from the city, who might be both brave and timid at the same time."

This was a hard nut to crack. Birbal pondered over the royal order for a couple of minutes, and then went out to seek such a person. He found out a woman whom he took into the presence of the Emperor, saying, “You’re Majesty! Here is a woman who is both brave and timid at the same time”.

The puzzled Emperor enquired, “How so?”

A woman in a simple green robe and beige shawl steps out of her home into the pitch-dark night. She holds a small oil lamp close to her chest, its glow illuminating her determined face. Rain pours around her, and a distant palace wall looms ahead. A sentry stands unaware in the shadows. Style: Hello Chunmun visual suite, warm tones, emotionally resonant.
She steps into the storm, lamp aglow—brave in love, timid in fear.

To this Birbal replied “Maharaj she leaves her home at dead of night to meet her lover in face of heavy odds. She is not frightened by heavy rains or pitch darkness. She dupes the armed sentry and accomplishes her desire at all risks. Tell me, Your Majesty, can there be any worthy example of courage and bravery?

Inside a modest room lit by a single oil lamp, the same woman sits curled on her bed, clutching her shawl tightly. Her eyes are wide with fear as she looks toward a small rat scurrying near the corner. The shadows stretch long across the floor. Style: Hello Chunmun visual suite, warm tones, soft animation-like stillness.
Even the bravest tremble when the rat scurries.

While slumbering in the house, she is frightened to death by the slightest noise of rats. Who can be timider than her at this juncture?"

This intellectual answer pleased the Emperor who then conferred royal favours on Birbal.
